More Details: See two historical landmarks of Nevada in one day! This tour will take you to Hoover Dam and the Eldorado Canyon Mine, the oldest, richest and most famous gold mine in southern Nevada.
First, you will depart in our comfortable touring vehicle of the 1880s mine. (In winter months, the tour of Hoover Dam will come first.) The visit includes a 2-hour guided tour above and below ground. You will see the old Techatticup Millsite, where ore was brough out of the mine and separated into gold and silver. You will enter into the Savage Mine about 500 feet and see actual veins that the miners chased as your guide explains the history of this site.
You can add an ATV ride or horseback ride to your tour of Eldorado Canyon Mine. The ATV tour is a half-hour trip through Nevada backcountry. The horseback ride will give you the full Western experience as you view Nevada’s amazing landscapes. Those who choose not to add one of these options will participate in the full 2-hour tour complete with a look through the renovated buildings at the mine.
The next destination on this tour is the historic Hoover Dam. You will have a full 2 hours to explore the dam. The Hoover Dam Discovery Tour will take you to the Visitor Center, the theater where you can watch a film about the dam’s construction, the generator room, exhibit halls and more.
During our summer tours, the tour also includes a trip to Ethel M Chocolate Factory, a favorite of Las Vegas visitors.
